Digicel Unplugged Show Hails Dads

In celebration of fathers, Digicel Unplugged virtual concert paid a musical tribute to dads across Jamaica as well as worldwide on Sunday.

The D’Music-powered experience featured Alaine, Nickeisha Barnes, and Agent Sasco. The artistes performed from their catalogues of hits throughout the two-hour show in the celebration which was fit for a king.

The emoji-filled Father’s Day event kept thousands of online viewers throughout the entire live stream aired on the Digicel D’Music app, Instagram, and Facebook.

“This was another example of how we were able to successfully leverage our digital platforms to create memorable moments for families near and far,” said Nasha-Monique Douglas, chief marketing officer for Digicel.

“Providing premium entertainment content is very important to how our customers enjoy their experience with our suite of apps, including D’Music, where they go on to enjoy a selection of over 40 million songs, long after the virtual concert has ended,” she continued.

Barnes, first runner-up in the 2006 Digicel Rising Star talent competition, took the stage by storm with a powerful performance of her hit Rock of Ages. She followed up with In love (Sha la la la la) and concluded her inspiring 15-minute set with touching renditions of Natural Woman and Goodness of God.

Gospel fans showed their gratitude with a sea of emojis.

“Wul dem Lainey!” wrote Instagram user @rodneybuju, as reggae singer Alaine sang belted out the the opening lines of We Rise. She took fans on a musical journey with her classics, including No Ordinary Love and Dreaming of You, before debuting her latest single Victory Rock.

It was, however, dancehall deejay Agent Sasco who set the comment section ablaze with fire emoji with an electrifying 45-minute set.

He opened his set with his 2018 hit Banks of the Hope and performed several fan favourites. His set included Anywhere We Go and Ediat Ting Dat.

Agent Sasco used his set to stress the importance role fathers play in the lives of children and urged men to step up and take their responsibility seriously.
