JACANA congratulates Jesse Royal on Grammy nomination

JACANA has hailed its brand strategist, international reggae artiste Jesse Royal on his Grammy nomination in the Best Reggae Album of the Year category for ‘Royal’.

“Jesse is an extraordinary artist and we’re all extremely proud and excited for him on his Grammy nomination. It’s an incredibly well-deserved recognition of his talent and musical artistry,” said Alexandra Chong, CEO and founder of JACANA.

“We are honoured to have Jessie as a brand strategist and excited to continue our collaboration in 2022 on a number of projects, including social justice reform and community initiatives,” Chong added.

The album ‘Royal’ is the follow-up to Jesse’s Billboard chart-topping release ‘Lily of Da Valley’ four years ago. It features 14 tracks, including collaborations with Protoje, Stonebwoy, Vybz Kartel, Runkus, Samory I, and Kumar.

“This nomination means a lot to me. It has been a lot of hard work, for a lot of years, and who knows me knows I have really given my all to this thing called music in a ‘livicated’ fashion,” Jessse Royal told Loop News following his nomination.

The other nominees in the Reggae Grammy category for the 2022 Grammys Awards show include: ‘Live N Livin’ from Sean Paul; Gramps Morgan’ ‘Positive Vibration’.’; Spice’s ’10’; Etana’s ‘Pamoja’; and ‘Beauty In The Silence’ from SOJA.

Jesse Royal joined the JACANA as a brand strategist in March 2021.

His role is to help drive JACANA’s strategic direction. The company said it will support Jessie Royal’s “advocacy for the liberalisation of ganja, social justice reform and community initiatives”.
