THIS year Reggae Sumfest celebrates its 30th anniversary and principal Josef Bogdanovich is promising a memorable occasion.
“Thirty years is an important milestone, and we intend to make this festival our most memorable yet,” said Bogdanovich.
“We have had some of the greatest reggae stars on the Reggae Sumfest stage over the past several years, and 2023 promises to be more exceptional,” he continued.
The event is scheduled for the Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex in Montego Bay from Sunday, July 16, to Saturday, July 22.
“The team is already working hard on the preliminary plans for 2023. We are pumped and ready to go and Montego Bay is looking forward to welcoming reggae fans, from all over the world and from across the island, to Montego Bay as we celebrate our music, our festival, and our culture,” said Bogdanovich.
The events include: Sumfest Street Dance (Monday, July 17); All-White Party (Tuesday, July 18); Blitz (Wednesday, July 19); Sound Clash (Thursday, July 20); and Festival Nights 1 and 2 on Friday, July 21 and Saturday, July 22.
Reggae Sumfest 2023 early bird tickets have been on sale since February 17 with this window slated to end at midnight on Sunday, March 5.
First held in 1993, Reggae Sumfest has featured dancehall’s elite such as Beenie Man, Buju Banton, Lady Saw, and Capleton.
An array of international acts, including TI, Common, Usher, Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg, R Kelly, Ne-Yo, Mary J Blige, and Alicia Keys have also performed on it.
